ACID AND ALKALINE FORMING FOODS
How many times you have herd someone saying: “eat your greens”!
And why is this so true, and necessary? let me explain you below.
Foods either produce an acid or alkaline product after they’re digested and broken down. The actual pH of the food doesn’t impact whether a food is acidic or alkaline forming in the body. For example, lemon is very acidic, but is alkaline forming in the body.
In general, meat, eggs, dairy and refined carbohydrates are acid forming, and most fruits and vegetables are alkaline forming. Cooked foods are generally more acidic than raw foods.
Look and see the effects these common foods have on your body!
Having an “alkaline body”, helps combat disease.
Proponents of this diet even claim that it can help fight serious diseases like cancer.
Specifically, a low-protein alkalizing diet may benefit people with chronic kidney disease
Many alkaline-diet proponents believe that to maintain a constant blood pH, your body takes alkaline minerals, such as calcium from your bones, to buffer the acids from the acid-forming foods you eat.
The alkaline diet is quite healthy, encouraging a high intake of fruits, vegetables, and healthy plant foods while restricting processed junk foods.
If you have a look at the chart, the most acidic food is carbonate sodas, this includes sparkling water!! Follow by cheese (Dairy) pasta, wine, beer. artificial sweeteners.
Best alkalinized: greens!!! and guess which one is the best one? Kale!
So are you going to eat your greens now?
