ACNE & PSORIASIS

Acne and Psoriasis are not merely skin conditions, they can be crippling diseases that leaves you feeling depressed, self conscious, and makes social interaction very difficult.

Sadly, Psoriasis, is another disease that I could write a book but happily with years I’ve manage to somehow control, and keep almost to be “unseen”.

I have group them, as they are both inflammatory conditions of the skin. Both benefit from nourishing from the inside out. A diet rich in key foods works incredible.

Here 6 ways to reduce ACNE & PSORIASIS.

1 - DIET: GINGER & GRAPEFRUITS

Ginger it has been shown to have strong antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals. meaning less damage to your skin and less inflammation.

Grapefruit: packed with lycopene and vitamin C making it a superfood for your skin.

2 - incorporate VIATMIN A

Its essential in the normal shedding of cells that line follicle walls, and prevents cells from building up in the pores, which can cause pimples.

3 - include in your meals: MANGANESE and ZINC

Manganese: it helps with the metabolism of food , functioning of the nervous system and thyroid, and production of sex hormones (associated with the onset of acne).

Zinc: assists in the battle against aces and inflammation. Is involved in the metabolism of Omega-3 fatty acids. Also responsible for releasing and transporting vitamin A.

4 - supplement with FISH OIL

Good fats are good news for skin suffering from acne and psoriasis, and fish oil is a very good fat because it contains omega 3 fatty acids. (read my previous post for more info)

5 - cut DAIRY and PROCESSED FOOD (cut the junk!!)

Dairy: many researchers link dairy with bad acne, Try to do an elimination diet, don't consume dairy for at least 3 weeks. Same with sugar! (pasta, bread, cookies).

6 - EXERCISE

I will always add exercise, no matter what! Im a true believer that your skin needs to SWEAT, its the best detox organ we have, Any “extras” your body is accumulating, your skin will help in detoxify!

Best foods to incorporate:

cherries - green tea -  borage oil - fish oil - fish - avocado - quinoa - couscous - açaí - ginger - grapefruit - lemon - sage - eggplants

A bad diet creates HORMONE IMBALANCES, which them disrupt the sebaceous glands and lead to a one outbreaks.
