WATER!
When I recommend people to drink water, there is a typical question that pops up.
How much water should I drink?
The body is about 60%- 75% water, give or take.
You are constantly losing water from your body, primarily via urine and sweat. To prevent dehydration, you need to drink adequate amounts of water.
Bio-individuality applies not only to food but also to the amount of water our bodies need to function properly.
On average:
MEN should drink about 3 liters (13 cups)
WOMAN about 2.2 liters (9 cups) of water each day.
Water intake should be INCREASED in the following situations:
HOT/humid temperature
HIGH altitude (above 8,200 feet)
during EXERCISE
ILLNESS, incidence of fever, diarrhea, vomiting
INFECTION of the bladder or urinary tract
PREGNANCY or breast feeding
increased alcohol intake.
suffering from CONSTIPATION
if having SEVERE ACNE and skin dehydration
when SMOKING
if having KIDNEYS STONES
TIPS:
Hunger is often confused with dehydration. Next time you feel like a snack, have a glass of water!
A glass of lemon water in the morning, before breakfast, helps flush down toxins. (next post Ill tell you more about this amazing habit)
