WATER!

When I recommend people to drink water, there is a typical question that pops up.

How much water should I drink?

The body is about 60%- 75% water, give or take.

You are constantly losing water from your body, primarily via urine and sweat. To prevent dehydration, you need to drink adequate amounts of water.

Bio-individuality applies not only to food but also to the amount of water our bodies need to function properly.

On average:

  • MEN should drink about 3 liters (13 cups)

  • WOMAN about 2.2 liters (9 cups) of water each day.

Water intake should be INCREASED in the following situations:

  • HOT/humid temperature

  • HIGH altitude (above 8,200 feet)

  • during EXERCISE

  • ILLNESS, incidence of fever, diarrhea, vomiting

  • INFECTION of the bladder or urinary tract

  • PREGNANCY or breast feeding

  • increased alcohol intake.

  • suffering from CONSTIPATION

  • if having SEVERE ACNE and skin dehydration

  • when SMOKING

  • if having KIDNEYS STONES

TIPS:

  • Hunger is often confused with dehydration. Next time you feel like a snack, have a glass of water!

  • A glass of lemon water in the morning, before breakfast, helps flush down toxins. (next post Ill tell you more about this amazing habit)

  • Do you make infusion waters? here is one you'll love: ginger, lemon, cucumber!
